Chicken Changezi is a delicious and savory dish that is a rich and flavorful North Indian popular dish made with its creamy tomato gravy, usually marinated chicken with tender pieces of chicken and aromatic spices. Chilli, garlic, ginger paste and hot spices are slowly cooked by adding curd or cream, which becomes very fragrant and silky. It has gained a popularity due to its combination of aromatic spices and is as tasty and delicious as it is easy to make at home and is loved by kids and adults alike.

 So let's go to the chicken Changezi recipe!

Ingredients For Chicken Changezi Recipe:

Ingredients of Onion Cashew Nut Paste: 

 Onion( sliced) 1 mug 
 Cashew nuts1/2 mug 
 oil painting 3tbsp. 

Ingredients of Chicken Preparation:

 Chicken 1 kg 
 Yogurt 1 mug 
 Red chili greasepaint 1tbsp. 
 swab 1 tsp 
 gusto garlic paste 1tbsp. 

 Ingredients of Chicken Changezi:

 Oil 1/2 mug 
 Tomato puree 2 mugs 
 gusto garlic paste 1tbsp. 
 Onion cashew nut paste 
 Red chili greasepaint 1tbsp. 
 Kashmiri red chili greasepaint 1/2tbsp. 
 Coriander greasepaint 1tbsp. 
 swab 1 tsp 
 Milk 1 mug 

 Prepared Chicken Changezi:

 Cream 1/2 mug 
 Dried fenugreek 1 tsp 
 Garam masala greasepaint 1 tsp 
 Herbage coriander( diced) for garnishing.

Instructions Of Chicken Changezi Recipe:


  • Take a kadhai or frying pan and fry the onions and cashews in it until the onions are soft and the cashews turn light brown.
  • Then put this mixture in a mixer jar and blend it well to make a paste.
  • After that add curd, red chili powder, salt, ginger, garlic paste, lemon juice and chicken in a bowl, mix well and rest for 15 minutes.
  • After 15-20 minutes, heat oil in a separate pan and add marinated chicken and cook till it turns golden brown and meat is cooked well from inside.


  • After the chicken becomes golden, take a frying pan and heat oil in it. After the oil is hot, add tomato gravy and ginger garlic paste and cook for one to two minutes. Add onion, cashew paste and cook for three to four minutes. Add Chilli Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder Coriander Powder Salt and cook for one to two minutes.

  • Add milk and cook for 1-2 minutes. Now add the prepared chicken and cook on low flame for 5 to 7 minutes.

  • Then add milk and cook it for two to three minutes and add prepared chicken and cook it on low heat for six to seven minutes and cover it and cook on low heat until the chicken is cooked from inside and the oil separates. Be done.

  • After the chicken is ready, the cream was in the dry, add the hot spice powder and cook it vigorously for three more minutes so that the spices are incorporated evenly. Enhance its beauty and enjoy hot homemade chicken Changezi.
